... And Franklin Again

so after hyping up my town to my roommates for the past year or so, it finally came the time to show off! phoebe, kelley, and i ventured to franklin yesterday for a day of antiquing, food, and photo shoots! the weather was the most perfect mixture of cool breeze and warm sun. we had such a good time walking the streets laughing and window shopping. it was a lovely day.

caught her laughing!
the railroad tracks were a million feet above the water... gets your heart pumping!

A Franklin Fall Break

oh what a wonderful fall break i had! after getting back from the amazing sharptop cove i headed down 840 to my beloved franklin, tennessee. there i spent my time lounging on a couch, watching movies, eating free meals, walking the streets of downtown, and camping...it was lovely.

my first ever plank!
the tent that me and two of my good friends put together... in the dark... no directions... be impressed... we were!

my favorite lunch in franklin, poppy seed chicken casserole!
As i headed back to my college home i realized how blessed i was. i was blessed to be sad to leave my  franklin home and blessed to be happy to go back to my college home. i have been surrounded with gifts from my heavenly father and for that i will daily give thanks.

MIA

so there is a reason i have been absent from my blog for the past few days... i'm not just being lazy! this past weekend i was at sharptop cove in jasper, georgia with my younglife crew. i took some amazing junior girls with me and we had a blast. younglife camps are nonstop, fun, action, and beauty. we got to hang out in a beautiful area and have some careless fun. at the same time we got to spend that time focusing on God and the sweet gifts he has given us, which is the root of younglife.

such a beautiful place

it happened again.. a continuation of my personal series of unfortunate events. it all started this morning with an exploding egg in the microwave. it was definitely not an ideal way to start my morning off. then it comes to THE most embarrassing moment of my life and i am not exaggerating. the following event is a true story.
me and phoebe were cruising to biology lab on our bikes, she was sipping her diet coke fountain drink, and i was soaking in the good weather. we reach the part of campus that is usually packed with pedestrians and difficult to squeeze through. but we were victorious and crossed the sea of people. seconds later, as we continue down our path, phoebe mentions how close are bikes were together... and in that second her bike starts going down and it's bringing her with it. and then somehow it starts bringing mine down with it too. phoebe was lucky enough to get her feet underneath her and salvage herself and her precious diet coke. me on the other hand was not so lucky.
i fly over my bike and somehow end up on the other side of phoebe, under my bike, under hers, and with phoebe hovering over me checking on my well being. there is mud all over my face along with scrapes on my hands and shin, and bruises in several different areas. i'm laughing hysterically this whole time because, heck, that's freaking hilarious! i finally sit up to see a sea of my fellow peers laughing, pointing, and mocking. i couldn't blame them, i would too if i were them. can i just emphasize for a second that this was in no way a graceful, discrete fall. it was a brutal, humiliating, attention getting, wreck!!
me and phoebe finally stood to our feet and picked up our bikes. my bike somehow remained in good health... unfortunately hers will need some work, but she did save herself and her fountain drink so at least she had that. with phoebe unable to ride her bike the rest of the way, we tied our bikes up to the nearest pole and ditched those darn things. are amazing roommates, haley and kelley, came and picked us up from class and piled our bikes in the back of haley's truck.
i think the best idea for me now is to lock myself in my room in hopes to prevent anymore unfortunate or humiliating events from occurring. i'll take as many crossed fingers i can get:)

things i didn't like about today:
my wet bike seat... accompanied with my wet jeans
spilling coffee on my shirt
yup, that was me today..no lie
okay this might be a little dramatic!
...and here is my disclaimer: God is good, God is great and i am a very blessed girl. i am simply just laughing at what a joke my day has been today. on these kinds of days you have to laugh and not let these nagging details of your life consume you.

AFTER WRITING THIS.. i go out to my car to run some errands and i found this, and then i laughed once again.

it's time to expand your closet...to wonder away from the women's section and venture into the men's. you would be surprised what you can do with some over sized clothing. my friend cole recently gave me some of his old and used "trash" and i turned it into my treasure. make use of those left over ex boyfriend clothes or your guy friends old clothes! try looking at the men's section next time you go shopping. just get creative!...(sorry for the poor quality)
this hoodie was a purchase from the men's section in Forever 21

and this was a hoodie i stole from my best guy friend nick

one of cole's oversized white t's tied together with a braided thin belt

take a man's shrunken thermal, pair it with some boots and tada!

it was a fancy chocolate kind of night

sometimes a girl has got to indulge in a little chocolate. not just any chocolate but the fancy kind with golden wrappers, exotic coco beans, and high price tags. last night was one of those kinds of nights. i'm house/dog sitting for an amazing family who own a really nice house including a pool table, deck of cards, dogs, and stereo. we made good use of them all. we played pool, played egyptian rat screw (an addictive card game), played with the dogs, and danced like crazy fools! it was a much needed and enjoyed night.

tea time

this past weekend me and my roommates held an old fashion tea party at our new place, it was lovely. goodwill tea cups and saucers, record player playing Frank Sinatra, photo booth, and dainty finger foods.
mixed matched tea cups and saucers cost around 19 cents each...can you say score?

our house was looking and smelling delicious

photo booth was a winner, if your thinking about planning a party i would absolutely recommend this. who doesn't like taking pictures, right?

sometimes i ask myself why?

i found myself today laying on my back with my roommate phoebe cutting open my arms, legs, stomach and head and placing sacks of sand in my body. and i asked myself "why?"
do you remember those "scary" or just weird games you would play at sleep overs?...this more applies to the ladies.
me and phoebe, drained from our classes, passed out on the floor and proceeded to make delirious conversation, and so came her to cutting me open.

we thought of them all, and that was my afternoon.
